South Kazakhstan State Pedagogical University has become an official member of the Union of Turkic Universities as part of the Turkic Council. This was announced by the rector of KSPU Gulzhan Sugirbayeva. The delegation of the educational institution took part in the V-th General Assembly of Turkic Universities. The international training camp was held at the Turkestan Kazakh-Turkish University named after H. A. Yassavi.  The Assembly was attended by rectors of higher educational institutions, representatives of the diplomatic service, students and international organizations, experts, scientists from 15 countries, such as Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Hungary. At the meeting, the rectors of the university discussed topical issues in the field of education. The Cooperation Council of the Turkic-speaking States is an international organization that unites the Turkic states and promotes their comprehensive development. The Turkic Council was established in 2009.
