Department history

The Department of Kazakh language and literature is the oldest Department of the University, it was established as the Department of language and literature in 1937, when the two-year Institute of teachers was opened, headed by T. Beisov. The Department United teachers of Kazakh and Russian languages and literatures. The first graduation of the Department took place in 1939. Subsequently, the Department was headed by A. Ermekov and T. P. Korolev.

The Department of language and literature was headed by Adil Yermekov from 1941 to 1952, Rahim Barlybayev from 1952 to 1958, and Abish Baitanayev from 1958 to 1963.

The literary circle, organized in 1958, revived the educational work of the faculty and the Institute. In September 1959 and June 1960, the Department's teachers and students met with the famous writer Mukhtar Omarkhanovich Auezov. Was also conducted meetings with writers Gandola by Cenowym, Askar Tommey, the Tulegen by Aybergenova, Askar Suleimenov, and composer Shamshi Kaldayakov. Literary circle was headed by head of the Department A. of Science.

In 1963, the Department of Kazakh language and literature was transformed into two departments – Kazakh language and Kazakh literature. The Kazakh language Department was headed by A. The Department of Kazakh literature until 1973 was headed by A. Baitanaev, 1975 – 1987 – Muslim Kozhykov, 1987 – 1988 – Eleusiz Kulymbetov, 1988 – 2002 – Amir Musakulov, 1002 – 2003 – Omirtay Tanabayev, 2003 – 2010 – sulushash bekmyrza.

In 2010 – 2011, two departments were merged into one – the Department of Kazakh language and literature, Dinara Baigut was appointed acting head of the Department.

In 2012 – 2013, the departments of Kazakh language literature (heads D. Baigutova and R. Begalieva) and Russian language and literature were combined and organized by the departments of Kazakh and world literature (N., Nurpeisov, A. Mamyt) and linguistics (D. Baigut).

In 2017-2018, the Department of Kazakh language and literature was transformed into two departments – Kazakh language and literature, Russian language and literature. From November 22, 2016 to 2018, the Department was headed by Ph. D., senior lecturer saparbayeva Karlygash Zhylkybayevna.

The Department cooperates with SKSU named after M. Auezov, ENU named after L. N. Gumilyov, Karaganda state University named after E. A. Beketov, al-Farabi KazNU, kazgzhpu, Syrdarya University.

Many graduates of the Department continued the path of their seniors: Ph. D., Professor Absattar Derbisaliev, Bolat Baitanayev, Talgat Sairambayev, Esengeldi kerimbayev, Ph. D. Amangeldi Zhapparov, and others. The Department can also be proud of its graduates Mukhtar Shakhanov, a well-known poet and public figure, poets Israil Saparbayev, Hanbibi Esenkarayeva, Narmakhan Begaliyev, Moldakhmet Kanazdy, Zharylkasyn Boranbayev, Abilda Aimakov, Amze Kalmyrzayev, Akim Iskakov, Bakhytzhan Aldiyarov, competitive poets Akmaral Leubayeva, Marzhan Eszhanova and Anar zhapparkulova.

The Department trains bachelors in the specialty of Kazakh language and literature, Kazakh language and literature in schools with non-Kazakh language of instruction, Philology: Kazakh language.

Currently, the Department has 21 teachers, including 5 associate professors, 12 candidates of science, senior teachers, 1 doctor of philosophy (PhD), 3 masters, teachers. The Department's degree is 86%%

The Department has a linguistic and methodological circle "Zerde", where students study the problems of the theory and history of language, new methods and technologies of language teaching.

The literary and art criticism Association "Storehouse of art" ("Syr Sandyk") attracts students with its diverse research in the field of literature, folklore, and relations with other types of art. The circle is headed by a young poet akerke Adilkhanovna Malikova. The Association attend such talented students as Serik Sandugash, of Sarmanovo Laura, Apsalar Mapal, Dildabek Erasyl, the Taiyr Magzhan, Askarbek Mereke, Becium Narby etc.
