«100 New Textbooks (Literary Theory: An Anthology. (Edited by Julie Rivkin and Michael Ryan, Volume I-II)»

 

On January 25, 2022, the Department of Kazakh Language and Literature held a methodical online seminar on the topic «100 new textbooks (Literary Theory: An Anthology. (Edited by Julie Rivkin and Michael Ryan, volumes I-II)»).

Speaker - Associate Professor of the Department, Ph.D. Kazhiakbarova R.B. in her speech, she noted that the program «Spiritual Revival» provided students with the opportunity to deepen their knowledge and supplement their knowledge based on the best world standards through the best university textbooks in the world translated into Kazakh in all humanitarian areas, that 100 of the best textbooks in the world develop scientific content necessary for the development of the national language, and create conditions for students to receive modern education.

In her speech, the speaker introduced the book by Julia Rivkin and Michael Ryan «Literary Theory. Anthology» (2017): «Today we will provide information about the authors of the anthology, consider their psychoanalysis and analyze the theoretical work. This anthology contains works in various fields of the humanities. The anthology is intended for a specific target audience – students and university professors. The work acquaints the reader with the results of the development of philosophical, psychological, literary, linguistic thought in the XX-XXI centuries. The anthology includes important studies in the field of literary theory and culture of the classics of French, British, Russian, American philosophy and philology. In fact, this is a collection of basic texts (books, monographs, articles, essays) in various areas and schools. The anthology includes the main works of Russian formalism, Marxism, new criticism, structuralism, gender, postcolonial studies, phenomenology, receptive aesthetics, psychoanalysis and poststructuralism of psychology, cognitivism and other theoretical and philosophical trends. These are works that played an important role in the formation of humanitarian movements in the XX-XXI centuries. And also analyzed the works of Ferdinand de Saussure, Karl Marx, M. Bakhtin, F. Nietzsche, Z. Freud, J. Deleuze and others.

The speaker noted that the anthology has three editions and is in demand in American universities, and each chapter opens with an introductory article by the compilers of the collection - Julia Rivkin and Michael Ryan. Julia Rivkin and Michael Ryan's 1998 anthology Literary Theory: An Anthology went through three reprints, the last of which was reprinted in 2017. She also analyzed that the anthology included important studies in the field of literary theory and culture of the classics of French, British, American philosophy and philology, the book contains the main essays of Western literary scholars of the 1960s-1980s.

During the seminar, teachers and students of the department shared their opinions about the book «Theory of Literature: An Anthology. (Edited by Julie Rivkin and Michael Ryan, Volumes I-II)».

 

 

 

 

 

*On October 18, 2021, a methodological seminar on the topic "Ways and directions of forming a future competitive teacher" was held at the Department of Kazakh Language and Literature. In her speech, the head of the department, Ph.D., associate professor Dinara Baygutova noted the importance of forming a future competitive teacher within the framework of the «Rukhani Zhangyru» program, noting that in this direction students have the opportunity to study in depth the world's best university textbooks translated into Kazakh in all areas of humanistic education, had the opportunity to study on the basis of the best world samples, improve their knowledge, master modern methods of scientific research and presentation. During the seminar, the teachers of the department discussed ways and directions of forming a future competitive teacher.

 

During the seminar, the teachers of the department shared their thoughts on the ways and directions of forming a future competitive teacher. Senior lecturer of the department, Ph.D. Kairbekova Ulbala Zhumatovna made a report on the topic: «The professional qualification of a future specialist is the key to the quality of education." In her report, she analyzed the issues of professional competence of future specialists in the process of training and education at the department, theoretical and professional formation of professional competence of students in the process of training future competitive specialists in educational programs 6B01701 - Training of a teacher of the Kazakh language and literature, 6B01704 - Training of a teacher of the Kazakh language and literature in schools with the Kazakh language of instruction, 6B02302-Philology. In her speech, the speaker noted that competitiveness is determined primarily by the level of education.

 

Associate Professor of the department, Ph.D. Kazhiakbarova R.B. made a report on the topic: "Ways and directions of formation of a future qualified teacher". In her report, she noted that economic competition between civilized countries is determined by the level of education, the XXI century requires a new philosophy of education, new information and communication and pedagogical technologies, that currently the education system is facing the issue of independent external assessment of the quality of education in  the training of highly qualified specialists meeting the requirements of modern high technologies, strengthening the requirements for the material and technical base, scientific and pedagogical staff of universities, which guarantees young people a decent education, analyzed the ways and directions of formation of a qualified teacher, directions of development of professional competence of future teachers, issues of formation of a methodological basis within the updated content of education.
